Stocky’s renowned lineup of vertical grip Carbon Fiber stocks are lighter and stronger than ever. THIS IS THE Howa 1500 MINI VERSION!
As you may have read by now they are the most accurate HOWA ACCUBLOCK CF® stocks on the market today, frequently punching groups well under MOA in many magazine reviews. The MINI version is a full-size stock with the forend tapered more narrowly to correctly fit short-action rifles without excessive weight.
Construction
For the beautiful exterior shell we hand lay layers of premium carbon fiber cloth one-at-a-time in our climate-controlled cleanroom, using our own molds. All seams are overlapping for added strength. We then thermodynamically activate the resins using our own proprietary, in-house designed and built computer-controlled convection ovens, controlling the heat curves to the temperatures required to achieve ideal curing / time curves for each individual model. The resulting CF shells are the lightest and strongest we have ever seen.
Once the shell is completely cured it must be filled and inlet for your rifle. While some manufacturers might be tempted to use a relatively homogeneous fill for the forend as well as the receiver area, varying the density using fillers, we had another important requirement. Rather than adding weight and reducing strength by machining a big rectangular hole (like competitors) for adding in our aluminum Accublock® after-the-fact, we wanted to develop our own lightweight material that functionally duplicated T6061 aluminum metal from a compression and strength standpoint but could be molded right in as part of the manufacturing process. That was a tall order but our engineers accomplished it by developing a new Accublock® composite material from scratch. Needless to say we cannot tell you exactly how, but if you look closely at your stock you’ll see our famous Accublock® integrated and machined right into your stock. They require no aluminum pillars but you are welcome to install some.
Stocky's take: I developed and patented a very special Accublock® for all of the Howa 1500 rifles. When you put your reciever in you'll see just how solid it locks-in the barrel lug and tang, Nothing comes close in the marketplace. As you may have read by now they are the most accurate HOWA CF stocks on the market today, frequently punching groups well under MOA in many magazine reviews.
The some of the benefits will be obvious, for example when you torque the screws (45 in/lbs. suggested) you’ll have no squishiness. If you didn’t know better you would think it was aluminum. There will be no cracks or degradation of strength under torque and/or recoil of the heavier calibers. There will be no flaking or deterioration over time either. Unlike aluminum it is thermally stable as well. Whether you are hunting coues deer in the desert sun at 120° or muskox from an igloo at -50°, the torque settings will not change therefore giving you a more reliable zero under any and all conditions. It is also impervious to moisture and does not shrink or expand due to climate.
Here’s what matters the most - We are so confident in the integrity of your new stock if your stock breaks (for any reason other than intentional) return it and we will replace it no charge.
Bedding
Our exclusive Carbon Accublock® design functions better than metal in some respects, plus requires no additional bedding. In fact you may discover it shoots the best right out of the box. However, if you or your customers require individual bedding the Accublock® was designed for skim-bedding as well, just as with our aluminum version. Simply scuff / remove any finish overspray and bed - the stair-steps will hold the lug right where you want it while your bedding epoxy cures.
Recoil Pad
They are sporting our new custom SVL Limbsaver® recoil pads to soften the blow.
Also, since our CF lamination is so strong it holds a solid screw, the way we designed them is to simply to screw them on so they will be easier to change, although we are happy to accommodate your request to add some glue as well.

Howa Mini Stock
Nothing much to say, You get what you pay for. If you want quality along side strength and a light weight stock, then you aren't reading this for no reason. Look for coupon codes or wait for a deal of you can but I was able to knock off 3lbs from my rig. Had an Oryx Chassis that was awesome but was just too heavy for me. Now I can walk, stand, or kneel with no problem. 5 Stars hands down.

VGM Mini 1500
Just a great stock. I've read reviews were they complain about having to sand or open up barrel channel to free float barrel. My stock touched the barrel towards muzzle end. I was able to a magic marker role 120 grit sand paper around it until it fit inside stocks barrel channel. The sanded until it free floated barrel. Remove slowly and check fit as sanding. Had to open up barrel channel in stock for about 2 inches. Custom fit that looks great.

Howa mini vg carbon
This is the 4th stockys carbon stock I have gotten. All have been great (rem 700, Howa mini sporter, Howa superlight and this one). I wish I would have went with the heavy barrel channel as I have both sporter and heavy barrel rifles so I could swap it around as needed. It’s well made and extremely light weight as described. The barreled action dropped right in without trimming or sanding, but the barrel was touching the stock so I did do some light sanding so it is fully free floating. Would definitely recommend and I will buy another in the future for my tikka when I feel the need to upgrade.

Extremely light and well made
Build quality it top notch. Startlingly light! Mine was 22.9oz on my scale. I went with Carbon Sagebrush and the paint job is phenomenal. Texture is just right also. The only critique I have is it needed a substantial amount of sanding done to the barrel channel to free float the barrel. I will also need to remove a little material from the bottom of the bolt handle notch as it hits it and make a loud nock upon closing the bolt. Still functions 100% and wouldn't be an issue on a range gun but it's too loud for a hunting rig. Aside from those couple issues that can be remedied, I'm very pleased! Besides those, it would have been 5 stars all the way!
